Especially at this time of the year. There's nothing of note happening and those sites need hits so they generate any click-bait, fake-news their imagination can come up with.

An announcement by South Africa’s Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture (DSAC) signals a significant step forward in its efforts to bring Formula 1 back to the country after more than 30 years.

F1 last raced in South Africa in 1993, with the Kyalami circuit playing host to the South African Grand Prix in Alain Prost’s last championship-winning year.

Once a mainstay on the calendar, South Africa’s history in F1 stems back to 1960 before its East London venue became a championship event in 1962. Kyalami held its first championship Grand Prix in 1967 and remained on the calendar until ’93, albeit with no race between 1986 and ’91 due to apartheid.

But the country’s DSAC has invited interested promoters to step forward via a formal tendering process, as it seeks to secure a capable promoter for a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

you dont need to be smooth to slide uphill. you just have to fall hard enough. I have seen it happen and let me tell you it was freakign funny. running up a smooth grassy hill, foot slipped close to the top about 3 steps to go, fell down, slid up the last few steps, went over and started rolling down the other side all in the space of 2 seconds while I was sitting at the top of the hill wiht my GF waiting for the dude to come up. beers were a disaster to open after that.

There's a degree of marketing and fanfare that's required. F1 is a popularity contest after all. Just look at Danny Ric.

I doubt he's too bothered. I'm sure he's looking forward to working with Lewis, possibly learning some things from him and happy to teach him some things as well.

Nothing to do with marketing, more with the heritage of Ferrari. You've been the main guy at the team and along comes this new guy with no connection to Ferrari, and he gets to nab Enzo's house. Only Schumi got that privilege, and only after he proved himself to the team...
