4K HDR is really clean and crisp.

Still get those dips here and there where the codec goes grainy but I imagine that’s just local transmission from the car and will always remains a thing.

Yep, all car onboard cameras are limited to 720p for transmission.

While it would be nice to have a crisp onboard 4K camera at Spa while traveling at 350kmh through the Ardennes forest, it's not feasible right now.

@UrBaN963

May I suggest embracing the oh so wonderful block button like so many us? Not worth your own sanity mate.
He is blocked, but every now and then if I'm feeling down I like to read his drivel, it's a solid reminder than no matter how bad things seem, they could be far worse with a lot more retardation in the veins.

My prediction for quali so far would suggest Le Clerc, Norris and Piastri.

If it rains on Sunday, bet Max will get a podium with perhaps a Norris win.

Look I know you internet ankle biters don't think before you write.
But again its practice, it means nothing. If it did I can say Hamilton got pimpslapped by Hadjar, Stroll and Tsunoda in Practice 1.

I simply made a comment that Le Clerc has been sitting quietly waiting for the race to prove a point. I did not mention practice or the results. You lot then came with excuses for Hamilton and practice times. Maybe you know already what's going to happen in the race and are getting your excuses ready?
Actually, you said what you said about LeClerc and my response was, "Ok." That was sufficient to froth you up like a frappe at a Starbucks and here we are, you looking like a rabid dog and be calmly eating my bolognaise.

Yea that sounds about right. Williams may be showboating, but their form looks really good. Wouldn't be too surprised to see them up the in the top 10 earning some solid points.

When shooting the movie they did swop some of them out but I believe they recorded on board for use after the fact because of wireless live transmission being an issue.

But with this surprise 4K streaming announcement I do wonder if that's maybe changed.

It's a lot of data to transmit wirelessly for every car over the distances and changing locations, though. Not sure how they'd manage it currently.

Yeah, I've had an evening of getting baked with a bunch of IT nerds and we actually had a discussion about just how many people must firstly be involved to make it all worked purely from an IT perspective but more so the infrastructure involved and the fact it also all needs to be mobile.

Must be pretty fascinating behind the scenes.

Yea it's quite an incredible setup, must be quite a high pressure place to be during a race weekend too I would imagine.

Norris can't drive in the wet as he showed in Brazil. Max will win if it rains...

Also going to punt for a Max win if the heavens open. In the rain, I am going Verstappen, Hamilton and probably Russell. Would love to say Fernando but I fear that not even he will be able to drag that AM past its deficiencies. But we'll see. A well timed (for some) or poorly timed (for others) safety car could have a big say too.

With it being hot and dry for quali on Saturday and cold and wet for the race on Sunday, it will be both detrimental and suitable for Merc. Will McLaren suit all conditions? How will Red Bull fare? Ferrari?

I have no idea what's going to happen here, way too many variables. I can only think it will be absolute chaos

Even that isn't certain

Antonelli is also a wet weather specialist (F2 Silverstone 2024), not to mention colder weather suits the Mercedes

Hamilton is also really good in the wet (F1 Silverstone 2024) although we've yet to see him do that in a Ferrari.

So is Hamilton (Silverstone 2024).
Antonelli is a complete unknown in F1, let alone in an F1 car in the wet. If I were a betting man I'd wager on him being one of the crashes. Max and Hamilton on the podium, and maybe a complete random who got lucky with the timing of pitstops, like Sainz or Gasly...
