Lol. These people have had plenty time to prove themselves in F2. They can drive. Red Bull have to start admitting they have a problem with their car.
That's the thing, it doesn't mean you were great in F2 and F3 or any other category you'll be great in F1, it doesn't always translate to success for many drivers coming from lower categories. Yes, they can drive, but F1 is a different level of car to drive, you can either hack it or not.

Im willing to bet he’s no worse than many other rookies. Are you going to tell me Sainz is not as good a driver as Albon? Now add to that that Albon couldn’t cut it at Redbull.

The reality is that the Redbull is uber one-dimensional and has a tiny window for setup.

Explain what’s wrong with Doohan’s form? He qualified exactly one tenth behind Gasly. As a rookie, what’s wrong with that?
My observations are based on the 6 rookies, and at this stage Lawson and Doohan is bottom of the 6. Granted Doohan has been close to Gasly with 1 lap pace, but other than that he hasn't done anything more at this stage to make him stand out a bit more against the other rookies. With new rookies you can quickly tell if there is something special about them, or if they're just going to have an average time in F1. Doohan's stock could rise more if he shows more in the next few races of course.

If after 6 races Lawson and Doohan still don't show something more they both stand a chance of being replaced. Red Bull of course will be in a very tough situation if it should come to that, and Alpine already has Colapinto lined up, which was stated in advance just in case Doohan doesn't perform to expectations. If Alpine had more faith in Doohan why even put Colapinto on his back, that already says a lot that they're not 100% sure about Doohan. I always love an underdog story and I feel out of all the rookies he is the underdog and needs to prove himself the most, and only he can do it, so I hope he proves me wrong as a spectator and observer of F1.

My comments and observations is not based on any of the drivers being bad, it is based on their performances, and F1 is a performance driven sport, and if you don't perform your time could be short lived in F1. Yes, a driver can also perform differently in different teams, and adapting to any team is crucial to be able to perform at the highest level and your potential. You can still be in a crappy car, but standout performances will be highlighted when the driver is able to put that car in positions it shouldn't be.

Magnussen wasn't a bad driver, so why doesn't he have a seat in F1 anymore... well, because Hulkenberg performed better, and they needed the space for new rookies.

Even Stroll is performing surprisingly well thus far, although he is the brunt of the 'bad driver' claim for many years now, is he really a bad driver?

Why would anyone want to fight for that 2nd Red Bull seat is beyond me, with the history it has. If you go there you risk a lot, and Lawson is finding that out now, it doesn't make him a bad driver, he's just not able to perform in it. I can guarantee you if Lawson was at Racing Bulls now he would do what Tsunoda and Hadjar is doing in that car.

I thought Max was protecting his tyres, but no. That car just eats tyres.

I hate team orders. I hope Hamilton ignores it.

Maybe different strategies?

I hate it too but I think it makes sense here. LeClerc has been right on him for so long, might as well let him see what he can do.
