Surely that's a car, not driver, error? My understanding is that DRS is connected to the brake - when you touch the brake DRS closes.

DRS is manual at this track

They go into the first turn at full throttle so the DRS doesn't close automatically, so a manual process. Mentioned during FP1

I'll bet no one saw this coming. But, they will have to do something going ahead for the rest of the weekend. Either hose the verges down, or spray them with sort of fire retardant chemical.

I'm guessing the grass thing will become a standard safety item at all races moving forward to mitigate for etc.

guessing we can ignore the times from P2 because there were too many interruptions so the run plans people were on might not give a true reflection of car performance....
