Brilliant! Best part was Verstappens spin out. Pity Antonelli went out with him.

This was such an embarrassing weekend for RB at their home race. Could not get that diva of a car into any sort of operating balance. No points at all. Max had some serious bad luck. Yellow flag on quali, probably would have started around 3 or 4 in the race. Can't be too hard on Kimi, rookie mistake, it will happen. The cost is just enormous as this pretty much is the nail in Max's drivers chances.

I can't even blame Yuki. RB has all kinds of deep rooted issues. That car is crap and has been since last year. Throwing another driver into that 2nd seat is not going to do anything. The brain drain is hurting them badly.

Mclaren looking like they will just dominate rest of the season but the two boys will at least keep us entertained for the drivers championship.

I really can't think Hamilton is enjoying his Ferrari stint so far.

What a snore fest

Funny that Max got 3 penalty points for a slight touch and both cars still fine.
Kimi takes out his own car and Max's and could have taken a few more out of the race, yet only 2 penalty points?

Simple really. Max's was a blatant attempt to ram Russell, Kimi's was an accident. Quite different.

So Kimi made a mistake while trying to avoid an accident on lap 1, they shouldn't have even given a penalty for this lap 1 incident.
Surprised no-one is connecting the dots here.
It was Toto that instructed Kimi to take Max out to save Max a potential race ban.

And no, that's not a typical lap 1 incident. Kimi was braking way to deep into that corner on his own accord.

He braked at his usual spot. The issue was he locked the rears and then had to take evasive action, so he came off the brakes and couldn't get the car slowed down. Still, rookie move, but he is a rookie so he gets a little leeway from me.

Braking at your usual spot doesn't work when you're behind a load of traffic which is braking earlier than normal (because the cars in front are slowing down).

Correct. He messed up, no doubt.

He is not winning this year unless Oscar, Lando and Max is out of the race.

Yep, which is why I was hoping that late lunge from Piastri would work out.

And in other news:

Bottas in frame for shock Alpine seat move: https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/valtteri-bottas-alpine-option-f1-2025-franco-colapinto/

"...Valtteri Bottas has emerged as the leading candidate for a surprise switch to Alpine later this year should the Formula 1 team decide it wants to replace Franco Colapinto.

The Race has learned that Alpine's executive advisor Flavio Briatore, who is currently its de facto team principal, has approached Mercedes to discuss the potential availability of its reserve driver.

While it is understood that discussions between Alpine and Mercedes over Bottas have been very preliminary, and have not advanced towards a deal definitely happening, they do suggest that Briatore is considering his driver options amid Alpine's ongoing struggles.

Bottas, who was dropped by Sauber at the end of last year, has made no secret of the fact he wants to get back into a full-time F1 race seat.

While it was previously thought that the all-new Cadillac operation was his best hope, as talks between the Bottas camp and F1's incoming team having already begun, the possibility of jumping into an Alpine seat could help offer Bottas another F1 lifeline - both for later this year and into 2026.

Sources suggest Mercedes would have no problem in letting Bottas take on an F1 return with Alpine, especially as it will become a Mercedes customer team from the start of next year ..."
