"...Valtteri Bottas has emerged as the leading candidate for a surprise switch to Alpine later this year should the Formula 1 team decide it wants to replace Franco Colapinto.
That is a surprise and interesting. Still wondering how the seats at Cadillac will be filled...

I have an uneasy feeling that we haven't seen the end of Sargeant...

I think we should be spared that. Graeme Lowdon made it patently clear that they weren't going to put an American in the team just for the sake of having that connection. They want the best possible available drivers to propel the team forward.

1989 French Grand Prix. During this race, Alain Prost (McLaren) started in first, Nigel Mansell (Ferrari) in second, Ayrton Senna (McLaren) in third, and Gerhard Berger (Ferrari) in fourth.

Wow! I would have assumed 2007 or 2008 when they were fighting at the front. Crazy that it didn't happen in the late 90s or early 2000s either.

Congratulations to Lando and McLaren. Race was a bit bland after the Kimi/Max incident. The McLarens had a good scrap but apart from that it was forgettable.

I just want to make a note on my calendar.
When will the 7th time World champion and Carlos Sainz have learned their cars and be expected to beat their teammates?

I think it's just that specific order, of McLaren being 1st and 3rd, with Ferrari being 2nd and 4th.

The same 4 cars could have been at the front in another order...

Albon was looking good there for a moment and I was hoping he could bring in some points to cover Sainz's DNF, but it was obviously not their weekend...

I have no idea why they would want to put in old drivers that did not make the cut back into F1.
Riciardo, Bottas, Magnussen all had enough time in F1 and did not excel. Can just as well put a promising rookie in. Will get the same results, only the rookie might get better and get you better results.
Same goes for Hulkenberg, Gasly, Ocon. All just average drivers that had enough time to make their mark.
