ja he's locked in to the end of 2028 if he remains in the top 3 at the summer break each year.... otherwise Red Bull don't have to agree to release him no matter what figure is put on the table.
If he wants to leave then it's in their best interests not to fight it anyway. He could just crash the car every race to fck them...

Anybody else get the feeling that if you stuck Verstappen, Leclerc or Russell in that McLaren they'd be running away with this championship? I mean, Norris and Piastri are both really good drivers, but I can't help but feel that Norris being his own worst enemy is the only reason why it is close.

I don't really look at either driver and think ''This is a guy who can win multiple championships''. They're making hay while the sun shines with a dominant car, but I don't see them pulling a title off if either of Verstappen, Leclerc or Russell have a competitive car.

I think Piastri has it in him. He's quick and he's shown mental fortitude which Norris seems to lack.

But yes, I think if you put Max, Charles, George, Lewis, Fernando in that car, it would be a little more one-sided.

I can see Piastri winning the 2025 Championship. Pity, although he seems nice he remains an Australian.

I don't hate Australians, just can't stand them.

True, but you have to blame his parents for that, it's not his fault really. That's why they mostly showed Lando's mom 28 times and not Piastri's.

I rate Piastri pretty high based on what we've seen him pull off despite papaya rules. High likelihood Verstappen would run away with it but evidently has a car built to the absolute limit of his own driving style. So if and when he does switch teams will be interesting. Leclerc and Russell still have had their fair share of mistakes however they both have better starts than Norris.

The SkyF1 commentators were terrible this weekend. I cannot change to the other soundtrack as it is in a language I don't understand.

Oh yes, I hate people referring to the McLaren's as Papaya. Yes, I do realise they even call themselves that.

🤮

It sounds so DUMB.

Before Merc entered officially, they were silver arrows, which was equally dumb...

Silver Arrows (German: Silberpfeile) is a nickname typically given to silver racing cars with a significant connection to a German car manufacturer. Although the term was coined in 1932.

For decades until the introduction of sponsorship liveries, each country had its traditional colour in automobile racing. German race cars for their Silver Arrows silver, Italian for their Rosso corsa red, British ones were British racing green green, French Bleu de France blue, etc.

At least that has some history to it, but I get your point. I hate nicknames (except usernames).

The silver originally was as a result of having the paint stripped to save weight if I'm not mistaken. Zak Brown is to blame for specifically calling/adopting the shade of orange they use as papaya - they're winning so they can call themselves whatever they like imho.

He can call it orange blowhards for all I care, I don't like stupid nicknames.
