Half the field should quit then. Considering the "lost confidence" he's still got plenty competitors who are worse in the standings.
Who among them has a top 4 car? He's ahead of an 18 year old and a cursed second Red Bull...

He was cracked when a young Verstappen beat him in 2021 with a much slower car.
Then he totally lost the plot when he suddenly did not have the fastest car anymore.

One have to blame the fans and media for his depression. They made him believe that is a GOAT, and not that he was just driving the fastest car for years.
Besides the fact that you're ignoring all the years prior to DTS you're being rather disingenuous.

I suspect his announcement will have sweet F-all to do with his racing career at Ferrari. Probably something like he's launching a racing academy, or involved in another F1 documentary. Or buying into a MotoGP team, something he has rumoured to be interested in doing for a while.

Bottom line, think a lot of mouth breathing knuckledraggers are going to be underwhelmed by what happens on Friday.

Points is all that matters at the end of the season. Arguing he should retire at this stage is premature. There are and have been far less-deserving drivers on the grid.

Puma's sales of Ferrari gear increased eightfold since he joined. I'd bet the investment in Lewis has been paid for mostly from Ferrari's cut of those sales alone.
Sure, that's one part of the Ferrari business, not entirely sure that corralates directly to the sporting division.

Just to be clear, I don't have anything against him. I supported him at McLaren as I support that team, and would love for him to break Schumi's record.

Just stating, the passion of the Italian country and their press wants results.

I strongly doubt they would have been in the same position ( points-wise ) if they didn't drop Carlos. He gave Leclerc a good run for his money.

And at the end of the day, the real money is in the constructions and also pride / bragging rights.

Lemme guess, you're including 2025 with the rest of the season still to go.
Is he getting beaten in 2025 or not? Its just getting worse the further the season go.
I don't work on ifs. We saw your dreams shatter after you all told us how he is going to win another and he just needed that change to Ferrari. Thats how you roll, ifs and buts and then the truth comes out when the facts are counted and not the hopes.

Your brain ain't braining. You're not clairvoyant so perhaps apply your super intelligence when making statements as a matter of fact. As for my dreams shattering, well I'm not invested in whether or not Lewis wins another championship - I'd be happy for him if he did though and still believe he may have another in him. I can tell you though that if he's ahead at the summer break in 2026 I'm not gonna state, as a matter of fact, that he's beaten his younger teammate.

Yes like I have told you many times, please stop wasting my time.

End of the day that revenue didn't exist before and wouldn't exist if it were not for Lewis so if people are focused on a value argument that's essentially flawed if

1) his actual cost is essentially zero and still currently 6th in the championship not to mention the marketing upside in general
2) actual wins is what drives passion - and the only win Ferrari has had in 2025 is a Lewis Hamilton sprint.

Suffice to say that next year's silly season will be epic. LH will most likely retire if Ferrari cannot give him a championship car which opens a big door.
Max will jump ship if RB is nowhere, Alonso will retire as well.

I think 2027 will be the year of change imho unless Max makes a surprise move later this year still and then there’ll be a cascade.

Yeah I am talking about the silly season that starts towards the end of next year for 2027. Won't see much movement for 2026 except for Yuki and Colapinto, both whom I think will be out of F1 come 26.
