Valtteri Bottas set for Cadillac F1 seat after months of rumours
Valtteri Bottas is closing in on a comeback to F1, with the Finn understood to have reached an agreement with Cadillac for F1 2026.www.planetf1.com
Happy for him.
They've got experience now. Wonder if they'll go with more experience or a rookie/american? I'm leaning towards the former as a start.Agreed, Nice Guy, Good Driver, he deserves a seat.
Probably a frontrunner as far as what's in the media. If Colapinto is dropped that could also be an option since he comes with financial backing and similar fan base.I think Perez is probably a frontrunner atm. He brings that Americas fan base with sponsorships and obviously the experience.

Why Valtteri Bottas is likely to serve outstanding F1 grid penalty on Cadillac debut
A key rule tweak by the FIA…www.crash.net
Lucky for him. Imagine first race back, for a brand new team and you have to serve a grid penalty...
However, it's now been clarified by the FIA that this new rule tweak won't be applied retrospectively, thus, Bottas will is set to serve his penalty in Australia 2026 (or earlier if he races this season).
According to the link he will have to serve it as the rule change isn’t retrospective.
Great baseline to work with. Will be interesting to see how that team performs starting from scratch.Cadillac complete F1 driver line-up with second signing: https://racingnews365.com/cadillac-complete-f1-driver-line-up-with-second-signing
"...Cadillac has signed a deal with Sergio Perez to bring the Mexican driver back to F1 next year, RacingNews365 and Formula.hu understand.
It is expected that Cadillac will present both Valtteri Bottas and Perez as its 2026 line-up as early as next week. ..."
I think that is what is generating so may new fans. The overtaking in the F1 movie was hilarious. If that were possible, F1 would be the most popular sport in the world.
You missed vaaldamme’s entry? He cares deeply as he reminds us so often. Without Lewis he has nothing left in this sport. Some days I wish Lewis would retire.
There's only one rookie in the top 10 and 4 rookies in the bottom 5. If anything they're overrepresented slightly. There are 6 under 25 races. Probably 9 up to 200 races and the remaining 5 over 200 races.I want LH to retire mainly because I feel these guys are keeping young drivers out of seats. Same goes for Alonso.
