— Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher suggested Ferrari should consider replacing Lewis Hamilton with junior driver Oliver Bearman. Schumacher emphasized Hamilton's lack of podium finishes and high cost as reasons for the change. Speaking to media, Schumacher remarked:
“Besides the fact that he makes a lot of mistakes, his speed is just okay, but not better.”
— Schumacher highlighted Bearman's impressive performance with Haas, noting his potential as a cost-effective alternative. He continued:
“And then I see a young Bearman working wonders with the Haas. He costs only a fraction of what Hamilton earns.”
“I don't know exactly how much, but people are talking high double digits, well over 60 million a year. I believe Elkann can no longer justify that.”
— Bearman, part of the Ferrari junior academy, has shown promise with strong performances in recent races. Schumacher speculated on Ferrari's future direction:
“I wonder if Ferrari is saying, 'this has been like this for a year now, Hamilton has basically stood still'.”
“We'd rather bring in Bearman: a young, fresh driver who drives the brand forward and who we can build something with toward the regulations of the future.”
This is Formula 1
He didn't say the same about his brother in his later years. Also, Ralf has forgotten that merchandise and sponsors are involved.

I wont be watching live this coming weekend:

Those Times are all CAT so valid for RSA.
I am not yet sure what time the repeat coverage will be but there is bound to be a demand for it.

I am mostly awake at those hours (except FP1 & 3). But with F1tv you can watch it at any time you like.

6am Quali and 6am race and you don't want to watch live? Though you did say won't, not don't want to...
Yes, I could be up to watch but I like to watch the buildup, the behind the scenes activity and the paddock gossip, it helps set the mood. So I am happy to watch repeats of all sessions at a more convenient time. It just means I have to avoid this forum until after Quail and the Race to avoid getting any spoilers. So I will miss the forum rather than the event.

More messing about with the rules

Tyre rules change for Qatar Grand Prix

Drivers will be allowed to run tyres for a maximum of 25 laps of the Lusail circuit after Pirelli announced rule changes for the Qatar Grand Prix.

The heat and nature of the circuit means it can be extremely punishing for the tyres, prompting the sport’s rubber suppliers to take action and avoid potentially unsafe incidents.

Under normal circumstances, teams are able to use tyres for as long as they wish, often pushing them to the edge of their performance, but fears the characteristics of the Lusail International Circuit is too punishing has meant Pirelli has enforced a limit on the number of laps a tyre set can complete.

Each set of four tyres can be used for 25 laps of the 5.419km circuit, which is just under half of the 57-lap race distance. Tyres used in laps to the grid and formation laps will not be included in the 25 total.
