That doesn't sound very nice imho.
It's telling that out of the 2 following statements, he chose the first option:

1) "Don't ever compare me to anybody else. I'm the first and only black driver that's ever been in this sport"

or

2) "Don't ever compare me to anybody else. I'm statistically the highest achieving driver this sport has ever seen or had."

Both are true. One is a crutch.

And you think the one he picked makes him a knob?
I'd have thought the other would. Besides, stats speak for themselves, crowing about them is a bit hot air-ish.
Both statements are arrogant. Both are factual. One has a racial overtone.

Why does that bother you if its factual? What he says can literally be applied to most humans - sure it's the stuff of captain obvious, but hey, don't let it spoil your day?
Are you saying that we shouldn't share our thoughts, unless they agree with yours?

I'm saying exactly the opposite. The man has an opinion and y'all going on about him like he's some arrogant racist scum. Weird behaviour.
Nope, but this is the first time I've heard him say this, and it sounded wrong to me. It's just an opinion. I don't want him drawn and quartered.

"To be clear not all F1 teams are using the same fuel. Even though Aramco worked with F1 to develop the sustainable fuel standards for 2026. They are only providing fuel to one team.

And with the first F1 team launch just around the corner, I wanted to talk about fuel and engines b/c there seems to be some confusion.

To summarise:
Mercedes PUs will all use Petronas
Ferrari PUs will all use Shell
RedBull Ford PUs will use ExxonMobil
Audi will use Castrol
And Aston Martin will use Aramco."
