Or 100kw for 1min 20s. No car can lap at 100% power. But still a max of 20 seconds per lap.
Yes some teams do it better than others, but still it's a farce.
They want 100% power any time the steering wheel isn't turned or the brakes are on.Or 100kw for 1min 20s. No car can lap at 100% power.
Apparently the armchair guys know better than the F1 drivers. The drivers have no clue. They should just keep quiet and drive what the engineers dish up for them. They want 100% power any time the steering wheel isn't turned or the brakes are on.
And it's not just Colapinto. EVERYBODY lost speedno matter how you put it, this is not F1
According to this report, Colapinto is losing almost 100km/h while at full throttle on the straight!!!

The last decade was capped at 4MJ deployment. Just no boost button. They want 100% power any time the steering wheel isn't turned or the brakes are on.
Yeah but it wasn't a 50% power hit when the energy ran out. They lost 150kw not 350.The last decade was capped at 4MJ deployment. Just no boost button.
And how often were drivers losing speed at full throttle, or coasting into corners? The last decade was capped at 4MJ deployment. Just no boost button.
Yeah but it wasn't a 50% power hit when the energy ran out. They lost 150kw not 350.
Sure but the whole concept is about strategic deployment just with a bigger electric contribution than before. It’s not like this was surprising to teams, this was raised years ago.Yeah but it wasn't a 50% power hit when the energy ran out. They lost 150kw not 350.
Which is, as I said, kurtzman F1.Sure but the whole concept is about strategic deployment just with a bigger electric contribution than before. It’s not like this was surprising to teams, this was raised years ago.
2026 is basically roughly double the old average hybrid contribution over a lap, factor in the change in ICE power and it’s not much of a deficit overall.Which is, as I said, kurtzman F1.
150kw vs 350kw but not enough battery to go flat out down the straight.2026 is basically roughly double the old average hybrid contribution over a lap, factor in the change in ICE power and it’s not much of a deficit overall.
If I understand correctly, it's not just that there isn't sufficient battery for the straight, it's that power is redirected from the ICE to recharge the battery rather than power the car.150kw vs 350kw but not enough battery to go flat out down the straight.

Yup. The episode with the gay klingonIf I understand correctly, it's not just that there isn't sufficient battery for the straight, it's that power is redirected from the ICE to recharge the battery rather than power the car.
Obviously depends on the length of the straight and how much power to map to full throttle / boost button. The same as arguing they could rev an extra 3000 rpm out of the ICE where there’s a 15000 rpm cap but teams run 11500-12500 depending on the session. It’s a mindset that needs changing.150kw vs 350kw but not enough battery to go flat out down the straight.

Like the half jem'hadarObviously depends on the length of the straight and how much power to map to full throttle / boost button. It’s more to do with the optimal time to recover and then deploy for the most optimal lap.If I understand correctly, it's not just that there isn't sufficient battery for the straight, it's that power is redirected from the ICE to recharge the battery rather than power the car.
Cool bro. Make the ice go more vroom then. Higher fuel mix less wear but higher mass to drag around.Like the half jem'hadar
