F1 2026

Seems most of the rain only coming on Monday. No competitive wet session yet in the new reg cars.

He’s not wrong.

Ferrari may not be complaining, but they warned everyone about problem areas, specifically the launch issues regard the turbo, and designed around it to mitigate it.

These regulations are without question problematic.

All regulations tend to be problematic to varying degrees depending on the team. The fact Ferrari designed around it and now lose that advantage is probably more of a concern. All teams knew the technical regs back in mid 2022.

And they all said it would not be good. Christian Horner specifically said at the time that they would result in ''Frankenstein cars''. Too much going on that won't work well with the possibility of changes on the fly, and he has been spot on. The clipping issue was picked up in simulations last year already, and possibly even as far back as 2024.

My understanding is that incumbent and potential engine manufacturers were consulted as part of a collaborative process and they voted to approve the regulations. That vote included at least the power unit manufacturers. Same with the recent amendments.
