I think it's just better in the corners than the straights - it's been a Ferrari hallmark for a while now. They are trailing in the ICE department by some margin. Probably 35hp.

I recall a lot of moaning about Max's tactics like this and Max and his fans defending it as racing.

Do not remember many penalties for it either tbh.

I guess he doesn't know he has a break peddle as well, no one is forcing him off... he is choosing to continue even though the racing line has been taken already by another car. Pretty dumb and fruitless tactic.

After the race, Hamilton said there was no way Verstappen was going to pass him around the outside of a high-speed corner like Turn 6.

"Well, he went off on the outside," Hamilton said. "You don't expect to go around the outside of a champion.

"I wouldn't expect to go around the outside of him there and hold the line.

"He was behind at the apex and therefore he should have backed out, but he didn't. I left just enough room for him."
