He's had the rub of the green for sure, but even without them he'd be leading, although things would be a lot closer.

I think the technical issues have hurt George more than the fortunate VSCs for Kimi, notably in Canada where he retired from the lead, and then the battery issues in Belgium that set in motion a chain of events leading to his eventual retirement.
  • George doesn't retire in Canada, so an easy win. +25 to George, -7 to Kimi.
  • No deployment issues in Belgium, and he at least makes the podium, so +15-18 points.
  • No VSC in Italy, George wins, Kimi finishes second. +7 to George, -7 to Kimi
  • No VSC in Italy, Norris wins, Kimi finishes second. -7 to Kimi.
  1. Kimi - 271 points
  2. George - 243 points (and even more if he picked up a solid result in Belgium)
Ifs and buts though, and Kimi had an engine failure in Barcelona himself and he would have finished ahead of George in that race.

Must give the drivers thumbs up for not crashing. I was expecting safety cars and some red flags. They must bring back tires that does not last.

People forget that even as such a young man he has a trophy cabinet full of many, many race wins and championships. There's a theme to his career -- Once he starts winning in a particular series he just doesn't stop. There are lots of similarities between him and Verstappen and Hamilton.
We haven't even seen him scythe through the field in wet conditions yet (which will happen).

I've been thinking he's better than both of those, but time will tell.

Yeah well maybe F1/Liberty can stop with their street circuit fetish. If F1 is struggling for action on traditional circuits, what makes people think a street circuit will be any better?

If they wanted another Spanish GP, they should have gone to Aragon.
