I think George slowed excessively for Bottas' stricken car and that allowed Max to close right in. Had it been one more lap, Max may well have got him into turn one.

He's going to have kickass sportscar career after F1 when he does eventually move on. He's already raced in ELMS, LeMans 24 hours and Asian LeMans as a youngster.

It wasn't the first time he did something stupid though. In terms of rookies I think Bearman, Hadjar and Kimi are the only stand outs. Maybe Lindblad as well.

What a **** show from Aston ... seems like the writing is on the wall for Alonso to leave F1 - this must be very painful for him.
