Well, for me it reflects the fact that the Ferrari was the fastest car when Schumi drove it. Monaco doesn't reward fast cars, but people who know the track. Given that Rosberg lived there and probably drove it way more than most, I'd say that's the reason.

I'd agree, he grew up in Monaco, so definitely had home advantage.
 
Panis won his only GP at Monaco for Ligier. The Ligiers qualified 14th and 18th. Further proof that fast cars aren't rewarded. Though to be fair, only 3 cars made the chequered flag due to rain. Can you imagine the FIA allowing that today?

Michael Schumacher had taken pole position but had caused minor controversy on his slowing down lap when he impeded Gerhard Berger right at the end of the session. Coming out of the tunnel Schumacher was cruising slowly, acknowledging the crowd, while Berger was on a hot lap. Schumacher tried to get out of Berger's way but the Austrian was going too fast and had to spin at high speed to avoid the Ferrari, entering the chicane backwards.

The Ligiers were 14th and 17th in qualifying, both below their expectations after the team had mis-firing issues, preventing a top six position.

Going to skip watching this race. Monaco is generally a boring race and now with even wider cars the race will be even more boring.
 
Mercs surprisingly backwards in FP2, though looking at FP1 times this could just be some tests.

Williams also struggling.

Warm and sunny weather on Sunday with no rain at this time so pfffft.

Merc have admitted that they took the setup in the wrong direction in FP2.
A rare mistake, shows that they are under pressure though.

They will go the otherway on Saturday so better to have made the mistake today.
