.@MassaFelipe19 stops by for a quick pitstop before heading back out to rack up more laps. He's well over 100 so far today. #Williams40

In fact, Massa's about to surpass Vettel's tally of 122...

Meanwhile, the people's champion Ocon (who has twice saved us and the fans in the stand from mind-numbing boredom by going out when nobody else would) has also racked up his ton.

A good innings from Ocon. 103 not-out, all of it for eight. Great cricket.

Vandoorne's building a bit of a rhythm: 'Back off, do a 1m23s, repeat.'

He's about to notch up his 50th lap, so that's a solid recovery at least from McLaren-Honda.

And Vandoorne/McLaren hit 50 – in the pitlane. The 50th lap is an inlap, but it's a lap nonetheless.

FEW CLOUDS FORRMING
A flew clouds have formed over the Circuit de Cataluyna, and the track temperature has dropped to 26 degrees.

Vettel's on track, maybe he's miffed at Massa stealing all the 'look how many laps I've done' thunder.

The Ferrari's first lap out of the pits is a 1m23.3s, and its second lap is a 1m23.3s. We can see where this is going.

Vettel's back out on softs. Ferrari's just metronomically going through its programme today. This morning was all about nailing it on the mediums, now it's about longer runs on softs. It is, dare we say it, Mercedes-esque.

Big mover! Hulkenberg slams in a 1m21.589s to vault from 12th to seventh. That's not a bad effort on the softs.

When they haven't been stuck in the garage attending to yet another problem, McLaren's winter on track has generally amounted to stints of fewer than 10 laps at a time.

That has continued since Vandoorne returned to the track an hour or so ago, although the Belgian has since posted his best time of the day, albeit a 1:22.537.

Vettel's caught the medium-shod Massa, who is on a good run of his own – well into double figures.

The last couple of laps were still 1m23s for Vettel but he's slipping higher into the bracket.

Massa pits, freeing up Vettel – who was a couple of seconds slower that time through, so we suspect had to get out of the throttle through Turn 3. They looked quite close going into the first corner.

Massa's back on his way again, and the time lost suggest that could have been a tyre change not just a drivethrough. We'll have a look and see if he's sporting a different compound next time by.

Ericsson's been on track for a few laps now on those mediums. His pace is...unremarkable. Odd word, that. It's a remark in itself.

Bottas heads back out. We're getting a decent look at what the two Mercedes drivers are capable of on long runs today, as well as a glimpse of the Ferrari vs Mercedes dynamic.

Vandoorne's also on track. More mileage beckons for McLaren-Honda.

Vettel brings his 10-lap stint to an end, as Ricciardo heads back out in the Red Bull. Hopefully we get something other than 'fastish lap, slower lap, fastish lap' from the Australian in the final hour.

GREAT DAY FOR WILLIAMS
Massa has racked up an incredible 137 laps and is still going with just under an hour to go.

Bottas set a personal best middle sector a moment ago but the overall lap wasn't quite good enough to improve. He's set a personal best in the opening sector this time round though...

Bottas improves – nothing special over the rest of the lap, but it results in a 1m21.219s.

Ricciardo's on super-soft tyres. His first three laps – 1m25.0s, 1m24.7s, 1m24.6s So it's either a long run, or Red Bull are just doing some validation work.

Further down the order in the less-similarly-liveried-than-most-years Toro Rosso, Ricciardo's former Red Bull team-mate Kvyat's improved to a 1m21.884s.

Vandoorne's getting in some laps on the medium tyre at the moment, but his pace isn't as impressive as Ocon, who has been relentlessly in the 1m26s when we've checked in on him over this long stint.

Ricciardo's super-soft stint has ended after about 10 laps. Laptimes started in the 1m25s and ended there too.

Bottas, meanwhile, is 10 laps into his run of softs. Vettel's also on the yellow-marked Pirellis.

NEW PB FOR KVYAT
Daniil Kvyat's personal best has been changed to a 1:21.884, but it doesn't move him up any spots.

Another Honda engine change for McLaren today has once again seen them steal the testing headlines for the wrong reasons.

But just how many PUs have they used so far?

"We're being told by McLaren at the moment that it's not as many as six power units so far," reports Sky Sports News HQ's Rachel Brookes. "We've calculated, and we think it's four or five that they've had to use during Winter Testing.

"Bear in mind that they're only allowed to use four over the whole season this year, and you can see the kind of issues they're facing at the moment."

Honda's latest engine issue this morning has elevated the strain on its relationship with McLaren to "maximum", the team admits:

McLaren admits Honda's latest engine problems are putting "maximum" strain on its Formula 1 relationship, but maintains faith the Japanese firm can sort its problems soon.

Stoffel Vandoorne lost track time during Tuesday morning's test session at Barcelona after an engine change was needed to investigate an electrical problem.

That followed a pair off issues in the first week of F1 testing, and time is now running out for Honda to fix its reliability problems before the season opener in Australia.

Asked by Autosport how much strain the latest issue was putting on the relationship between McLaren and Honda, racing director Eric Boullier said: "Maximum.

"Obviously we are in F1, we are racing, and we have to perform.

"So the pressure is obviously huge and obviously we put the maximum pressure on all of our relationship with Honda, and the same for them.

"We cannot put a footstep wrong.

"We need to be able to deliver the best car as well, so this is both sides."

Following a problem caused by the oil tank design on the opening day of the first test, last Tuesday's faulure is believed to be related to valves, before today's electrical issue.

Boullier suggested, however, there there was a common factor in two of the problems, which delivered hope of finding a fix.

"From the outside world it may look like it is a different problem, but at least two of the problems were the same," explained Boullier.

"So it can be addressed in time.

"The one thing is we are running the same spec as last week so obviously that doesn't mean there are any changes in this block or any modifications done.

"I think, the next spec will have addressed part of this problem, or most of this problem."

NOT CONCERNED YET

With McLaren falling behind in testing mileage, it is facing the prospect of heading to Australia on the back foot.

Boullier maintains, however, the dramas were not yet a big worry, although the onus was on Honda to get on top of matters quickly.

"Not very much concerned yet, let's say," he said.

"Obviously we would like more laps because we would like to test more parts, but the few we have done is good, and the correlation is good, so we can now build a bit on predictions I would say.

"For the rest, obviously I leave this in the hands of Honda to make sure that they investigate properly, they address it properly and we have to rely on our partner and we believe that they will do it."

Although Boullier said McLaren board members had made their feelings clear behind closed doors at Woking, he insisted no thought was being given to cutting short the relationship.

"No. We have a contract in place," said Boullier.

"We don't even obviously think about it, because there is a contract between us, a long-term contract, and we want to build on it even if it is not ideal times."
