or is that 5?

The Frenchman spun into the gravel at turn five, where he's been struggling with the brakes all pre-season.

More brake issues for the Haas? It's been a reoccurring theme - and problem - all week
 
Recovery vehicles are on hand to clear away the VF-17. Grosjean had 22 laps on the board up to that point.

That's 2 days in a row that I get to turn 5 & see a car stop. This one's in the gravel though! Grosjean looks like he lost the rear on entry

And we're green again.

Verstappen is the first taker, the Dutchman is still yet to set a time after those earlier aero rake runs.
 
No messing around for Verstappen, he goes straight to the top of the times on a 1m20.221s on softs.
 
But he's immediately beaten by Hulkenberg, who posts a 1m19.885s on ultrasofts.
 
Verstappen already back in the pits, along with Hulkenberg. Ericsson the only man on track now.
 
Good news Sauber fans, Ericsson is on supersofts - so expect the Swede to move himself up from the bottom of the timesheets shortly.

It's a 1m22.254s for Ericsson, who goes fifth with that effort.

Stroll and Raikkonen have both joined Ericsson on track now, as we near the halfway point of the morning session.

Using softs, Stroll improves to a 1m20.335s, good enough for third.
 
Raikkonen also with an improvement, but a 1m21.902s keeps him in fifth. Bottas and Verstappen both head out now.

That was on medium tyres, and next time round Raikkonen improves by a tiny fraction with a 1m21.891s.
 
Green sectors everywhere now - Bottas posts a 1m23.311s on softs, and Verstappen improves to a 1m20.110s.
 
And all of a sudden, everyone is back in the pits with the exception of Bottas.
 
Hulkenberg and Stroll heading back out now. The latter is still leading the lapcount stakes this morning with 44 laps down in the Williams FW40.
 
Purple first sector for Stroll...

Must have been a mistake for Stroll in the middle sector as he's a lot slower and, a lap later, returns to the pits.
