I think what twister means is that Alonso has the momentum in the second half of season. The car is now competitive with the others.
A salient point on the outcomes of races vs grid position is that Alonso has converted his good grid positions much better than Webber, and now that he is up near front of grid he is obviously finishing strong.
So, given a small disparity on grid positions Alonso is out driving Webber.
look at the number of poles and seconds that Webber has had and he has for example 4 wins vs 5 of Alonso. Alonso has some serious qualifying issues in first half, and still managed a reasonable amount of points.
So on that basis it is hard to see Webber holding him off. You also have Hamilton to put pressure on him. Webber has had a better finish rate than before because he has steered out of trouble - playing the percentages- which is also borne out by that grid vs finish comparison.
Now he actually HAS to win and he HAS to stay in front of Hamilton and Alonso and he HAS to race. Expect some mistakes
It would be great to have the following scenario from Brasil - Vettel, hamilton, webber, alonso giving them the following points: Alonso 243, Webber 235, Vettel 231, Hamilton 228 leaving it a four way fight for last race.

but think he will have a grid drop somewhere because of engin replacement.
When did that happen. He has used all 8 engines, but two of those were still available for rotation during last four races
