FABtotum - 3D print/scan/mill.

I've been following this crowdfunding campaign for about a month, and will be getting myself the DIY kit..

Basically it's a device capable of 3D printing (FFF technique) light duty milling and even scanning. Although ~R10k isn't what I'd call easy money I think it's a pretty good deal for what it can do, I've been interested in 3D printing for some time and this looks like a good start. I also like that they're keeping the design "open source" creating potential for modding/extending.

Anyway just thought I'd drop this here.

Shame they should have gone for Kickstarter. Great idea still. Autodesk has this app for iPad where you can design your own monster and they will print a 3D version for you (at a cost).

oh cool, I am getting one too But I only get it August 2014. Its going to be a long wait....
