I've been following this crowdfunding campaign for about a month, and will be getting myself the DIY kit.. :D

Basically it's a device capable of 3D printing (FFF technique) light duty milling and even scanning. Although ~R10k isn't what I'd call easy money I think it's a pretty good deal for what it can do, I've been interested in 3D printing for some time and this looks like a good start. I also like that they're keeping the design "open source" creating potential for modding/extending.

Anyway just thought I'd drop this here. ;)
 
Shame they should have gone for Kickstarter. Great idea still. Autodesk has this app for iPad where you can design your own monster and they will print a 3D version for you (at a cost).

oh cool, I am getting one too :D But I only get it August 2014. Its going to be a long wait....
