We have an ASDL service and internet with Telkom. My problem is that we have two e-mail addresses - the one being a default [email protected] and the other an alias being [email protected]. It works cool, but when Jeanne wants to log into her facebook, it reverts back to my page, probably as a default. How can this be fixed, so that the alias also has independence? I think it is to do with the e-mail address - and it then reverts back to the default. What one has to do is to search for her profile and when it comes up to click on it. Very frustrating and annoying. Any advice? Gerhard Enslin: 082 260 3922

I'm surprised that if you log in with [email protected] at Facebook that it reverts back to yours because FB should see it as a different ID. However, I guess the email verification is where the problem comes in, since both are essentially the same address. Facebook uses an independent email address to distinguish between facebook user accounts. An alias is not an independent account, it's basically just a forwarder.

Jeanne needs to get her own email address, not an alias for logging in to FB. She can open a free GMail.com address, update her Facebook email address to use the new GMail one and all should be fine. You can always go into GMail options afterwards and set it to automatically forward all the GMail emails to [email protected] if you want. She'll always have to log in at FB with the GMail email address.
