Facebook fails to rebound

A rebound in megacap technology stocks that helped snap four weeks of declines for the Nasdaq 100 Stock Index had one notable exception this week: Facebook. [Bloomberg]

Would be a laugh for them to lose share price hand over fist. We can but dream.

Fakebook just rebranded their VR network from Facebook Horizons to Horizons World.

Even Fakebook know the Fakebook brand is toxic.

My schadenfreude spikes every time I read about Marky Mark’s misfortune… Break the company up and be done with it already.

I'm sure Marky Mark is busy crying into his money as we speak :whistling:

Much as I dislike Facebook and the wokery at BigTech, the last thing we need now is further government interference in private business. Such a move (a state-imposed breakup) would just add fuel to the fire and advance the centralising statist agenda that the woke and progressivists drive. Don't play into their hands.

You're going to have to bring a better argument than, 'muh wokes' if you really want to convince anyone that splitting up Fakebook, Instagram and WhatsApp is bad for anyone on this blue rock.

Either you believe in liberty and the right to private property as a matter of principle. Or you don't. In my view - which I know is very much a minority one these days - society is more harmed by the use of state power to vitiate private property and liberty than any harm possibly caused by an entity like Facebook.

There has to be a regulatory line somewhere.

An unregulated libertarian world ends with a smouldering cinder orbiting third from the sun.

Fakebook has been used for genocide; it's been used to subvert democracy; right now it's the go-to repository for antivaxers to 'do your own research' and it'll condemn us to an infinite cycle of pandemic waves.

Washing our hands of it is no longer an option.

Wtf is it with you guys and the sky falling? o_O

And Chicken Little's will Chicken Little

Relax Greggy... the world will outlive you and your great great grandkids
Even if my wokeness and progressivism advance the centralising statist agenda?

Woah!

Mind blown!

LOL

Even if we made you King of the World tomorrow :p
