Facebook IPO $38 per share

I guess this will not turn out well for the majority of buyers. And it will probably go higher soon. I wonder what the result for the users will be if the stock actions collapse.

Definitely not what they expected, still $38 (+0.23c) after first day of trading. Overvalued perhaps?

They will always be over-valued regardless of their PE. I still maintain that they are going to be a very good long-term hold and maintain a pretty good dividend yield. The next few days of trading are going to be interesting...

It isn't. Price down 13% already

Because of the trading delay. There were plenty of speculators in the market looking to flip it after the bell. The delay meant that these speculators were all wary about the early price movements when they started trading, so they cut their losses and sold. This drove down the price significantly.

What is worrying though is that it hasn't buoyed back at all.

I certainly don't think it was over-valued in terms of interest and general tech-stock valuations. The sheer volume of interest in this stock is astonishing. Technically they are over-valued though...

Down again this morning....

£12bn wiped off the value of the company so far

I'll make a little bet, Facebook won't last long enough to pay a dividend (that's a real cash dividend, not games with stock splits and share buybacks)
Let's say a January 2013 price below IPO by uhm err, 25%
You can call me on it next year, should be fun.
