Facebook is getting a dislike button

I have a feeling I'm going to using that a lot.
What is JZ's Vleisbook page again? I searched for a FB page named "presidiocy" but couldn't find it

/waits for animal abuse pics, friendship tests, misquoted/guilt trip Bible verses and pro-Australian posts

...also, that kid that beat cancer asking how many likes he can get - I'm coming after for you...

They're not getting a dislike button. More an empathy button. Will say "Sorry" or something to that nature. Zuckerberg made it clear it would not be a dislike button. Good move on Facebook's part too, about time.

Yes, I think a lot of people are going to come back to FB just so that they can dislike stuff.

This is going to be awesome.

“People have asked about the ‘Dislike’ button for many years… and today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it and are very close to shipping a test of it,”
Just how difficult would it have been to add a dislike button? I mean they managed a "like" button OK :wtf:

Now they must start working on a FU button

The like button does a bit more than just up an indicator on a post.

So it increases a counter by one and (I could be very wrong here, I don't like FB and have no real interest in how it works) suggests more material based on the content you like. Now it needs to decrease a counter by one and suggest less material based on the content you dislike.

Boy oh boy do I feel sorry for OpenWeb...

If you like a post you're more likely to see content from that user on your timeline.

That's pretty much what I said. People will have a weighting, each time you like one of their posts the weighting will increase, each time you dislike it needs to decrease. The code would be almost a verbatim copy.
