The man who announced on Facebook that he would host a party to celebrate the anniversary of the Westdene dam disaster will clean the victims' graves on Wednesday.

"It was agreed that Mr Zama Khumalo would assist family members of the victims to clean the graves and lay flowers at the Westpark Cemetery on 13 March 2013, 1pm," Jurgens Bekker Attorneys said in a statement.

Media24 had instructed the firm to lodge a complaint with the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) about Khumalo's comments.

Khumalo, 24, told his friends on the social website on January 24 that he would issue an invitation to a "Big Black Braai" to celebrate the drowning of 42 children when their school bus plunged into Westdene dam, Johannesburg, on March 27, 1985.

Khumalo posted the names of 24 of the victims, along with a comment that their deaths were "much appreciated, my Lord!"

The settlement was reached with the SAHRC acting as a mediator.

SAHRC spokesman Isaac Mangena told The Times newspaper on February 6 that the post was "on the face of it, full of hatred for another race".

Not that the despicable sack of flesh likely actually has it in him to change his views, but nicely done SAHRC.

If you ask me what he said is beyond racist. It is disgusting...revolting and well..there is actuallyl not a word in my vocabulary that can describe how I feel about this piece of worthless sh*t! He got off lightly in my view. Saying something like that about 42 drowned children....no matter their race is sub-human.

Agreed Ockie. I think they should have thrown in some lashings to go with the grave cleaning.
