I have quite a few t-shirts and pants that used to be black in their younger days, but have embraced their old age and are trying to go grey gracefully. I wish to revive them to the splendor of their youth.
I see Dischem sells black fabric dye, anyone have tips/tricks/experience for dyeing faded clothes?

Yes. Donate them and buy new ones. :D

My concern with the dye is making my other clothes black as well.
I keep an bare minimum of clothes, when the time comes, I will donate these, but they are in perfectly good condition aside from being faded.

Think of them as 50 shades of grey, you might even pull some lonely hot chicks with those shirts

The question was not

"Should I donate my clothes"

But "anyone have experience with dying clothes"

Clearly some people can't read basic English.

LOL
Yeah Ive given up starting new threads asking for advice coz in 3rd post the thread already gets de-railed

Let me rephrase, I have dyed my shirts . I also dyed everything else that was in the washing machine. So make sure it is something that doesn't wash off or only wash black dyed shirts with black shirts.

You could argue you like the patina and keep using it.

Stick them in the wash, add 2 cups of coffee when rinse cycle starts (not instant).

Repeat a few times.

Read about this, but it came off as one of those 'life-hacks' that will just leave me with a coffee filled washing machine.

Can do the black dye thing if you want, just do it outdoors cause the stuff stains everything it touches.

My mom used to make tye dye shirts, our kitchen looked like a rave festival gone wrong.

Tried the dye and the coffee, dye on the left, coffee on the right. I didn't exactly follow the dye recommendations - they say one packet should be used to dye 250g of fabric, which is basically 1 packet per shirt. I used 2 packets on 3 shirts and a hoodie.
