Is this even normal?

Believe it or not I was getting 15-20megabit up/down, with the same signal.

This is how it gets everyday, mornings I get 2500kilobyte to 70kilobyte in the evenings.

Afrihost not helping at all.

I am also having problems with Afrihost Rain LTE-A.

Since yesterday 6pm until late last night my speeds were so slow I was unable to connect to speedtest and get statistics. This morning it has increased to about 1mb/s.

Afrihost suggest I factory reset the router and move it to a new location. This is not the first time I have queried speed or line drops and they always give me the same answer. Are they seriously suggesting that I have to reset the router every time the speed drops? I am not using the standard router settings, thus I need to do a re-setup every time, that is just unpractical. Also why would I want to move my router if I have already found that it is placed in the optimal location at my home and have worked fine for weeks.

I will begin to run some speed tests at different times to build up a record for better evaluation.

Just FYI, Afrihost does not have a Rain network, i.e. no control over the network itself.

They are a reseller of Rain's products.

That is like blaming Makro that your Samsung TV has a few dead pixels.

They cannot just blameshift though, because if you pay them for the service, they carry the responsibility to ensure things are working as promised.

That's not good at all!

Can you please PM me your account details, there are a few tests that I need you to run so that I can send this through to RAIN.

Uhm rain told me to take it up with afrihost.

"Please try and move your router to different positions around the premises to see if you get better results. Failing this, please report it to your ISP, there are processes in place for them to test and escalate to Internet Solutions."

More on whose blaming who? Or remain on topic?

You are paying AH for the service, Rain will not support you directly. AH will communicate with Rain if need be.

I'll be able to submit the details from my side, I just need you to PM me your account details.
