Hi Guys

Haven't had a desktop in over 15 years now so totally out of touch.

Friend is selling his PC because he is in financial trouble.
And we are looking for a desktop for the kids at home.

Will mainly be used for homework and the one kid loves playing a game or two.
I will use it for some photo editing in Lightroom and probably indulge in a game or two because it is there.
Might set it up as a media player as well over time.

What would be a fair price for me to offer him.

Thanks guys

R2k more than likely, but not really much more than that honestly.
Its almost a decade old card. CPU is okay I guess, but still old.

Personally I wouldnt want to spend money on this.

True, the rest is alright, GPU is ancient and 1 stick of RAM in an AMD Ryzen 2600? How did they survive for 6 years? Also only being 8gigs??
So I'd purchase this for R1500, get a new GPU and more RAM

The GPU alone is worth a lot R3.5k brand new now although it is an older series.

No one, in their right frame of mind will ever buy a 1050ti new when for that price you could get a 3050 new.

Unless the seller is a scammer, and the buyer does not know a single thing on tech

I would say R1500 max.

Check what games your kid likes. GPU is ancient.
no man that's rude

offer him 2.5 to 3K - the 1050ti is old but will manage fortnite and the likes easy. I'm guessing thats what most of the kids are playing these days

You can always up the ram, GPU and even the CPU further down the line.

What games? Tho either way you're probably going to need to upgrade it.
