Fake XXX posts with my cell number

Hi guys

Someone (and I think I know who) has been posting messages on random xxx-sites with my cell number. After I asked one of these sites to remove the message containing my number they revealed the user's IP address as well as email address. Tracing the IP address I can confirm that it is a Vodacom user AND what's more is that the email address provided is my name and surname at Gmail.com!

How can I find out who uses this IP address so i can take the matter further?

Lol yes we do and regards to most users of dynamic IPs (dsl, dial up, 3G) there are records of what IP was assigned at what time and to which subscriber. You'd need a court order but it's possible.

Just confront the person. If you already think you know who it is, you're probably correct. Just tell them you're taking the matter to the police, it'll probably make them admit to the whole thing to try get you to not go. but go anyways for the lols

Alternatively, draft your own legal letter. Make it look all official and serious and send it to the Gmail address. The fiend probably checks that Gmail account to revel in their diabolical scheme.

What happens when the IP is a public coffee shop that has free WiFi for everyone? How do you hold
someone accountable then?
