Hi guys, so far I've used my XBOX only to play sport games and GTA.

I want to get a good RPG, I'm just not really clued up on games, so I require some help deciding what to buy.

The choice is between the above three.

I LOVED all Final Fantasy games on the PS1 and PS2, but have since not played any RPG's, other than Diablo 2.
I do not have Internet at my current flat, so online multiplayer can be ignored.

Which of the above mentioned three is best?

Thanks guys!

Without a doubt, I'd say get Fallout3 ......... purely because it has sooooo much to do ;)

I got bored with Fallout 3 - seems to be a bit repetitive - I mean it had a good story line - but the action is repetitive - playing Farcry 2 at the moment - love the afrikaans merc :p

Because of only having played sport games and GTA on XBOX (as well as playing all strategy and FPS games only on PC) I'm really clueless when it comes to good XBOX games.

If there's any must-haves, feel free to list them :)

Fable 2 is fun, but doesn't take too long to finish - replayable based on your in-game descisions, so you can play a "good" character, then an "evil" one.

Fallout 3 is also fun, takes much longer to complete everything, but can get a bit repetitive.

I found Mass Effect OK when I first started, but it kind of fizzled out and I lost interest.

You can get Mass Effect at a BT games bargin bin then pick up Fallout 3. Both awesome RPGs. Fable 2 is good but i don't think it will hold you very long. Personally haven't played since i beat the campaign as opposed to Mass Effect and Fallout that i have played through multiple times.

Can't really say much about about Fallout 3 or Fable 2, but I have played Mass Effect.

ME becomes very repetitive when you do the sidequests. Not really a game you can replay a lot. There is a basic achievement system, which unlocks skills for other classes, etc, but it's not worth the pain to play it repeatedly.

Of the three choices, I would go for Fallout 3, given what I heard about them. It's not a perfect choice, but IMHO, it's the best of the three.

You thought Fallout 3 was repetitive but you're playing Farcry 2  I got so bored with that game after 3 hours I uninstalled the crap lol. Drive here shoot,,,,drive back,,,drive there shoot,,,drive back,, rinse and repeat. Then start all over doing the same stuff drive here shoot,,,...........that's before considering things like how people respawn at checkpoints and you have to kill them again and again each time you drive past or let them chase you again and again lol....

Mass Effect can also get very repetitive when you're going to different planets for whatever reasons, seen one you've just about seen them all.

Fallout 3 wasn't as good as I expected, but I would go with that other the others.

I haven't played Mass Effect, but of the other two I'd say Fallout 3 is a better choice. I like the storyline with the many side quests and there is so much to be done, which is what you want with RPG in my opinion. Better playing value for your buck then.

I agree with you there. FarCry 2 annoyed me and i just couldn't get into it. For all the reasons you gave but also how they limited me to what i can carry, the fact that i couldn't carry the guns i wanted in combinations i wanted p*ssed me off.

Mass Effect can be repetative i agree but as for the main quest some of the side quests there is alot of reply there.

Im bias as to Fallout 3 as i am a bit of a Fallout fan boy. Somethings in it bugged me but overall i enjoyed the game. The character animations sucked and didn't like the speech system (Prefer Mass Effects) other wise it loved it.

Fable 2 is a brilliant game, genius in its design but for me it just didn't have much play value after the main campaign is over. Id give them all a try is i where you.

Do what Endev suggested, Pick up Mass effect for nothing in the bargain bins at BT games. I found it to be a really awesome game, and if you get it for cheap then you can still get FA3 or Fable

Did Endev suggest that? Must have missed that...

Fallout 3 :) And you should try and pick up Elder Scrolls: Oblivion aswell, cheap for R199 on Xbox 360, in my opinion best Single Player RPG ever made(after Diablo 2 ofcourse :D) Great game!

It's very similiar to Fallout 3 - Fallout 3 is actually reffered to as Oblivion with gunzz lol
