[V]Hi Guys,
Spoke to a telkom representative today, he said the 3gb Cap is on local and international traffic, I thought it's only international, so if I get capped, everything will be clamped, I have not even have my line in, and I'm unhappy.

-Can any of you guys give me more light on the subject-

"Once a customer exceeds the 3 Gigabyte volume limit for the month his international traffic will be transported over a slower international link without affecting his local access. He will experience slower access speeds on the alternate international link, as he will then be sharing this link with all other customers who exceed the 3 Giga byte cap"

There is a whole section of this forum dedicated to the 3 GB cap. Take a look at the link below.

[:D]On this note....
Just got off the phone with telkom, this time someone higher in the food chain,
National Bandwidth will not be capped, only international after your 3gb Limit has been reached, little bit of an relieve.
I still need to know what traffic is shaped, can i play games online localy, etc etc....

local traffics are not affected even after capped.

you can still play online games on local servers and download s/w locally at fast speed.
