It is to be expected, when the most sensationalist news is rewarded. Freelancers get paid more if the material is more spectacular, so it stand to reason that they will start to produce material that will earn them the highest pay.
If you don't put checks and balances in place, you will always get somebody that exploits the process.
An example is call centers. If you make the number of calls part of the KPI, you will get a high volume of calls. It does not mean that you have a high number of satisfied customers however. Rather make the ratio of satisfied users to number calls the KPI, and get another company to check satisfaction levels.
I always thought that newsitems get verified first before publication.
Don't they do it anymore?
Whats it about? Cant view it.
Is it the Rueters thing?
Reuters, BBC, CNN, Newsweek, TNR, NYT, CBS..... all caught out lying time after time it's realing starting to get pathetic. They just apologise and carry on where they left off. No accountability just like our government![]()
There are many corollaries to Godwin's law, some considered more canonical (by being adopted by Godwin himself)[2] than others invented later.[1] For example, there is a tradition in many newsgroups and other Internet discussion forums that once such a comparison is made, the thread is finished and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically "lost" whatever debate was in progress. This principle is itself frequently referred to as Godwin's Law. It is considered poor form to raise such a comparison arbitrarily with the motive of ending the thread. There is a widely recognized codicil that any such ulterior-motive invocation of Godwin's law will be unsuccessful (this is sometimes referred to as "Quirk's Exception").[8]
Godwin's Law applies especially to inappropriate, inordinate, or hyperbolic comparisons of other situations (or one's opponent) with Hitler or Nazis or their actions. It does not apply to discussions directly addressing genocide, propaganda, or other mainstays of the Nazi regime.[citation needed] Whether it applies to humorous use or references to oneself is open to interpretation, because although mentioning and trivializing Nazism in an online discussion, this would not be a fallacious attack against a debate opponent.
lol well if you are going to push the fact that apparently everyone who thinks Israel is guilty of alot of sht is keeping quite, then let me point out the obvious.. Even if they didn't shoot THIS boy, really doesn't mean they have never shot anyone. So exactly what is your point? Oh look everyone, Hitler didn't kill THAT jew, he is standing right over there! I suppose that means he probably didn't kill the other 6 million, they'll turn up! Move along people, nothing to see here!
Weird how when I apply the same logic to Hitler, it falls flat on its face..
