Hi Guys,

So my fan started making a noise some time back. There's posts all over the web about overheating, updating the BIOS, cleaning the fan, replacing the fan.

Where would one find a reasonably priced replacement fan? HP/OEM would surely be expensive.
Or could I just use some machine oil on the bearings as mentioned on some posts on the web?

I ran a BIOS update about a year ago but will run another one maybe tonight.

What app can I use to monitor CPU temp, and what would the correct running temp be?

See if you can take it out and lubricate it. One drop of synthetic oil will do it. Make sure the oil just goes into the bearing

I wonder if Castrol edge will do the job in that case :)
