So I am in the market for some 120mm fans. I know nothing about fans at all. Tell me what I should look out for, if you don't mind.

Need 2 for my case, and two for a heatsink

Thanks :)

Edit: Looking for a balance between performance and silence.

I've got a 120mm Noctua from evetech.co.za, supposed to be 'silent' from one of the best fan manufacturers around but it's completete bull**** unless they were doing the test in a helicopter...

EDIT:- so I have no idea what you should look for, as far as I can tell even the expensive ones sound like a jet engine.

Whats a heat synchroniser? :p

Moving on - what do you want out of your fans? Performance, silence, or a bit of both? And then you get to decide if you want to buy locally, or look abroad.

The new fans from Corsair are really good iirc... Will have to check reviews later but I'm sure its those

I bought a few 120mm & 140mm Thermalright X-Silent fans, but I haven't had the time. I wanted to replace my Coolermaster SickleFlow fans, because they're pretty noisy.
These X-Silent fans are apparently pretty good, but I suppose not as good as some of the more expensive (like R100+) ones.

Cougar PWM

Check the reviews,I can attest they are exceptionally quiet and big bang for little bucks. I use them exclusively on my Watercooling rads
