I understand that but you said eskom have a plan to provide adequate capacity, so I was hoping to get some info on this plan:

Ok thanks. Anyone know how long it takes to get a new power plant built and working - from design to power output? I would guess 3 years is pushing it?

The feeling I get is that capacity is OK for now barring the technical glitches. They just have to accurately forcast the growth of the economy and the resulting electricity demand.

The stadiums will be sold out anyway. I am going to see as many as I can whether we still have crime or not.

The 2010 World Cup is only going to become important to the rest of the world (who enjoy football) ... in 2010.

About the only comment I get, here in the UK, when talking about SA and 2010, is "I read FIFA doesn't think they can do it"

As for Mbeki, nobody has a clue who he is - Mandela, sure, but by the general public here, they remember him as a freedom fighter and have no clue what he does now.

The UK is hosting the 2012 olympics, I bet nobody in SA really knows anything about this, or much cares.

As for fans boycotting 2010 due to crime, yeah right, sure, that's going to be REALLY effective on a soccer mad continent
