Far Cry 2 - Afrikaans!

I wonder if "Ek sal jy moer" will be as memorable as "Die Allied Swinehund!"

LOL

That cracked me up. The WW2 shooters have classic one-liners for sure ;)

Which reminds me, with GOW2 leaked on the torrents, can MS hurry up and release it for us paying customers please :D

Most people around the world don't understand to much Afr though

True, but the game doesn't subtitle any of the foreign languages. There's at least one case where someone has a full-on conversation in Zulu right in front of you and you have no idea what's cutting until they turn to you and speak in English. It's awesome :D

See!!! There!!! You happy, now I have gone and bought the game at Kalahari. Curse my weak fps soaked will

Thats wierd, I thought Afrikaans had died 5 years ago...

Stupid question, but has this game the same idea of STALKER where I just wandered around, got lost and eventually had to give up ? :o

No, it's an open world and you can go anywhere, but the missions are clearly shown on your map. There is no time limit for a mission as far as I can see, so you can wonder around for a while, get ammo, etc and then approach your target.

I haven't seen any lions or elephants yet. :D Just a few springboks (Go bokke)

Been playing FC2 for a couple of days now...

Seen Zebra, Springbokke and Wildebeeste.
Giggled at the Afrikaans and Zulu used (not so much the fact that the language is used but how well the accents and dialogue is done).

Glad that Afrikaans is finally getting some exposure. Patricia Lewis, Jurie Els, Noot vir Noot, 7de Laan and Die Huisgenoot aren't doing the language any favours. ;)

PS - Afrikaans isn't dead, it left the country for places like the UK, Canada and Dubai! And now we are starting to see the results.
Today a PC game with Afrikaans, tomorrow Jamie Oliver making koeksusters! :p

During the cricket test match, the commentators mentioned that there are now 100'000 South Africans living in Perth.... :D

The Afrikaans voice in Far Cry 2 belongs to Harald Richter, a South African TV actor and singer.

Holy crap batman, talk about necromancing and it's your first post to boot!
