FARCRY 2 - Strange occurrences

hi

besides that the AI cant shoot (but can hit you 50 miles of the map rite through a wall) i am getting Strange occurrences in the game... this might be hardware related but not sure... my HD 4850 is struggling with this game in full blow.

my problem is 15-20min into the game, it starts to run really sluggish (slideshow) but FPS stays @ 40FPS... then i have to quit and restart for it to run again...

someone out there having same problem??

Have you monitored temperatures on your system, ie CPU, Graphics card etc?

You may find its an overheating problem.

It could also be your catalyst driver, just see what version you are running and see if there is any known issues with the adapter and that version of the driver.

Also, at what settings are you running the game?
Have you tried different settings and does it still do the same?

Sounds like your cpu is overheating and is frequency scaling itself down to prevent meltdown.

Run speedfan and ati tray tool (for ingame onscreen display - latest beta v1.6.9.1374 is best) to test this.

I have constant Sluggishness but say 40FPS as well, I also have 4850.

Im quite dissapointed with the rendering power of 4000 series. Objects and Trees only appear when i get closer to them. That sucks! Or is that to little Vram

I'm running it with a 4850 as well and not having any problems. My rig is inferior to the one in the OP and i'm not having trouble running it at full graphics.
