Man accused of killing farm-attack activist employer, Annette Kennealy, denied bail

An employee accused of killing his employer, farm attack activist Annette Kennealy, made his first appearance in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Kenny Ramantswana, 40, from Maluma village, faces charges of murder and house robbery, said Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

He was denied bail and the case was postponed to July 1 for further investigation.

Kennealy, 51, was recently found murdered on her farm near Makhado in Limpopo.

It's not easy if you have a big scale operation to handle all the work load yourself. I managed to do my day job and do the odd feeding, watering and maintenance myself on our small holding. I only ever got day labour in if there was something I needed help with and I made sure to pick them up from far away and go drop them again.

However, Commercial farming you need lots of hands. That being said, I think it's time farmers start employing young white people who can't get jobs due to BEE. There are loads of youth who are not educated past matric, however I don't know if they can cope with the work regime required on a farm. Most of the youth today are a bit lazy tbh :o

I like your suggestion, but I know the youth of today wont jump at this opportunity if presented.

People go for the cheapest and hardly conduct any vetting. SO once asked a colleague if she knows anything about her domestic helper. Her response was shocking. "Her name is Precious and she's from Zim. I have her papers" was all she knew. Nothing more. This person was a live-in helper who took care of her 2 kids.

Yeah, that is very close, and the fact that they have invaded his farm a few times and he had to go to court to fight it definitely has a connection to this.

Suid-Afrika is vanoggend geskok en nogmaals verafsku deur die gruwelike moord op Stefan Smit, die boer van Louisenhof by Stellenbosch, gisteraand. Drie gemaskerde mans het om ongeveer 20:00 gisteraand op Louisenhof opgedaag en die boer vermoor.

Daar is egter heelwat meer agter hierdie saak as bloot net nog ‘n plaasmoord.

1) Pas nadat Cyril Ramaphosa president geword het, in Februarie 2017, lewer hy sy eerste Staatsrede waarin hy onteiening van eiendom sonder vergoeding as regeringsbeleid bekend maak. Minder as ‘n maand daarna, in Maart 2017, begin die EFF met grondbesettings in Gauteng en verklaar sekere gebiede in die land as “prioriteitsgebiede” vir sulke beoogde besettings. Stellenbosch Distrik word vermeld. In Oktober van daardie jaar word Joubert Conradie vermoor op sy plaas by Kanonkop, sowat 14 kilometer vanaf Stellenbosch. Dit lei tot die landwye “Swart Maandag” protesaksie.

2) Tussen Maart en Augustus 2018 begin inwoners van Kayamandi digby Stellenbosch om onwettig hulle plakkershutte op te slaan in die wingerde van Louisenhof, die plaas van Stefan Smit. Hy moet hom herhaaldelik na die hof wend om die hutte te laat verwyder.

3) In Junie 2018, dieselfde periode waarin die onwettige besetting van Stefan Smit se grond plaasvind, word Jeff Zettler, die aarbeiboer, aan die ander kant van Stellenbosch, minder as 20 kilometer van Louisenhof af, vermoor.

4) Op 25 Augustus 2018, te midde van Stefan Smit se stryd om die plakkers van sy grond af te hou, berig IOL en ander nuusagentskappe dat baie grond in Stellenbosch skielik in die mark is en dat grondpryse skerp gedaal het.

5) Op 9 April 2019 nooi die boere van Stellenbosch vir Cyril Ramaphosa om hulle toe te spreek op die landgoed, Beyerskloof. Dié gesprek word afgesluit deur ‘n emosionele verklaring waarin Cyril Ramaphosa bestempel word as die “gesalfde leier” en ‘n man wat ten volle vertrou en gerespekteer moet word. Die vergadering is stapfastand van die woonhuis op Louisenhof.

En by daardie woonhuis word Stefan Smit op ‘n soel Bolandse Sondagaand koelbloedig om die lewe gebring.

Die skuld van sy dood kan voor die deur van veel meer as drie gemaskerde mans gelê word.

Die president en regering van Suid-Afrika moet ook in die bank staan. Dis hulle wat die duiwel losgelaat het met hulle beleid van onteiening sonder vergoeding, wat elke rondloper en geweldenaar laat dink dat daar maar gevat kan word na hartelus.
Die radikale politici in Suid-Afrika wat links en regs uitlatings maak oor watter grond geprioritiseer moet word vir onteiening en met haargevulde uitsprake hulle volgelinge aanhits teen blankes, staan ook met Stefan Smit se bloed aan hulle hande. Hulle wie se uitsprake volgens die MRK nie haatspraak is nie.
Die Afrikanerpolitici wat nog steeds die volk mislei met valse ondernemings en beloftes oor hoe die Nuwe Suid-Afrika verbeter kan word om minderhede te beskerm. Ons is slim genoeg om te weet dat dit in der ewigheid nie kan gebeur nie, maar hulle is slim genoeg om te weet dat jy die breë massa so maklik mislei met die gesigte en stemme van “celebrities” en soetklinkende ondernemings. Ook hulle moet vanmore antwoord gee vir wat gisteraand op Louisenhof gebeur het, want ten koste van hierdie boer (en soveel ander) het hulle nog 5 jaar van tydmors vir eie belang gekoop.
Die mede-boere van Stefan Smit, wat ‘n Kommunis en oud-terroris om die nek geval het, wel wetende wat sy beleid is, en hom tot “gesalfde” verklaar het. Wat het hulle van hierdie kruiperige vertroue gekry anders as om vanmôre hulleself te vra: Wie van ons is die volgende? Ook hulle moet vanmôre in die bank verskyn.

Louisenhof het die potensiaal om die Slagtersnek van ons dag te word in ons volk se vryheidstryd. Dis te betwyfel of dit sal gebeur. Ons gaan ook nie deur die moord op Stefan Smit tot opstand en terugveg aangespoor word nie, want ons wil nie regtig nie. Ons is tevrede om maar net ons simpatie te betuig en verder te kla. So lank as wat ons nog ons luukses en geriewe, ons braaivuurtjie, ons rugbywedstryd op TV, ons dubbelkajuitbakkie het en die verskoning kan aanvoer dat ons enigiemand sal volg wat eerste leiding neem, is die moord op Louisenhof niks anders as nog ‘n gruwelike voorval nie. Dis niks anders as maar nog ‘n boom wat uit ons bos gekap word nie. En daarom moet elkeen van ons vanoggend onsself afvra: As ek kyk na my keuses en my gebrek aan betrokkenheid…staan ek nie ook vanoggend in die beskuldigdebank nie?

Front Nasionaal betuig hiermee ons opregte meelewing met die Smit gesin van Louisenhof. Stefan was die vierde geslag op Louisenhof. Ons treur saam met julle.

EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, responding to a query from News24, said the murder of Smit must be subjected to police investigation.

"[The] perpetrators must therefore be arrested and face the full might of our law," he said.

"Having said so, it is critical to understand that as EFF we support all land occupations by landless people as long as the question of land reform has not been addressed by the state and colonial beneficiaries of the land. This is a historic fact that majority of black people have only managed to access land in post-colonial times through land occupation," Ndlozi added.

There is somthing befuddling over many Western Capers only now realizing that organized farm attacks are a thing.... because now they too are being targeted. So it was all just a conspiracy theory until it hits you?

Because the WC are more important. You can still drink wine to still the hunger pains when there is no more food, but what do you do when there is no more wine? :rolleyes:
