Farm Attacks

Then you go and preach your little "Security detail" to "your" CPF people to avoid being attacked.

Don't blame victims, it's farking disgusting...

I'm the King of Scotland... (See how easy that was) I'm not here to test your little claims or how much of an security expert you are and that you drive 8k kms a month on CPF patrols. Stop using other people's pain and suffering to push your little agenda. I'm honestly sick of seeing you victim blaming people who you have no knowledge of, or even their circumstance.

You don't have anything good to add, stfu. Simple.
Make me

Come on guys why are you fighting each other ?
Please try and concentrate on fighting the perps ....

ALL people living in rural areas should prepare themselves so that WHEN they are attacked they have a properly prepared plan of action -- and resistance

Anything else is being blind to reality

Attackers rob elderly couple on farm, set house alight

An elderly couple have been left traumatised after they were robbed, tied up and had their home set alight, police said on Sunday.

The couple, aged 68 and 67 were attacked on Wednesday, November 6 around 20:45 on their Albany Bluegum Vale Farm at Gubenxe Valley area near Ugie by three unknown suspects.

"According to reports, three suspects approached one of the victims after he went out of the yard to relieve himself. One of the suspects who was armed, forced the elderly man back into the house where they demanded bank cards from him and his wife," said police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana.

He said the men then drove to town with the couple and withdrew an undisclosed amount of money from their bank cards before returning back to the farm.

I've been thinking about buying a small farm with some of the bargains I've seen on sale lately. I wouldn't be crazy enough to actually live on it, but I want to try cultivating a few exotic fruits that I think would grow well here and might actually sell well. I don't see farm attacks decreasing in the future though so I'm on the fence on doing it.

Purchase in an area that does not have these problems -- there are a few
Using greenhouses / tunnels one can grow just about anything anywhere -- provided you have WATER !

100%. Does not even have to be a farm, a small holding would work initially.

"The couple was taken to hospital for medical care. A case of house robbery is under investigation."
How about adding arson and attempted murder?

Guess they'll get off a looking for work and trespassing when this is done ... if they're caught.

Place I am looking at seems somewhat safe at the moment down in the humid subtropical belt in the eastern part of the Eastern Cape. Lots of access to water with a few streams running through, a largish bass dam and a borehole. The farmhouse and sheds have fallen apart as it's been empty for almost 25 years. I have no farming experience though and I'm just in the thought process as the trees that I have sprouted from seeds are doing extremely well, in my backyard even further south in the arid PE environment, and the main one is one of those up and coming superfruits that are becoming popular around the world, but almost impossible to get in SA.

Woman attacked on farm near Jeffreys Bay
She says at first, she thought it was her husband, but then saw two men - one armed with a firearm and the other with a sharp object - in front of the office, trying to gain access.

Swart says one of the suspects then stabbed the woman in the head and she retaliated by shooting him in the upper body.

The other suspect then fled the scene.
This is why you shoot first! It could have ended very badly ...

I would never advocate , shooting your attackers , then burying them on a piece of land which nobody could ever find ,also do not torture them before you "hand"them over , obviously they travelled 10km on your only access dirt road just to steal your nokia 3310 and 26 inch tv.
