Farm Attacks

Shocking but reminds me that good old 'Don't call me Rabbi' John Robbie used to say frequently that majority of victims in SA know their killers intimately. I don't know how true it is but there seem to be lot of stories such as these.
It's true for most of the world as I understand it. The majority of murders are committed by someone the victim knows.

R2,000 bail... ok then. Well done police, piss poor once again from the lawyers/judges of this country.

And "no there were no marital issues..." buddy I don't mean to point at the obvious, but there ARE SERIOUS ISSUES!

Not sure about the rest of the world but maybe SA if one stretches beyond family and love explosions to employees who murder their employer. But it could also be the statistic is based on those murders in SA where the murderers are caught and convicted, hence known? This is maybe 15% (?) of murders in SA; the conviction rate 👺 .

Granted its a relatively light check, but it seems to be something that holds true in most of the world...

Most murders are committed by a person the victim knows, be it a family member, loved one, friend or acquaintance.

It is as simple as it sounds, known as in the victim knew the perpetrator before the murder.

It shows the real problem, a big chunk of violent crime stems from social issues that simply cannot be policed.

But we haven't a clue about the other 85% of murderers who get away completely, maybe just a higher proportion of those caught are known to the victim.

Price for her is much higher. Her life is finished. Nobody will trust this one around a paper clip let alone themselves, colleagues, family etc. She's cooked.
I was being ironic.... R2k and finding out your wife was about to bump you off before she could do it.... he got off lightly.

But him saying he had no marital problems is the height of blissful ignorance.

My great grandma was raped and beheaded on her farm, IIRC. I believe her husband had passed on and she decided to stay alone, which honestly, for a lone old woman, is a death sentence even back then, if you think about it.

The attackers were all caught and hanged.

@TheChamp @Sideshow Bob Good to have real Justice, don't you think?

My dad was at the sentencing, the one turned around and asked that his clothes be given to his son, my dad said he felt bad for the man, what a strange feeling to have at the time.
