Farm Attacks

I understand, but surely there must be a number or percentage attached?

Scenario 1:

People in power don't say a word about anything.
Certain group of people murdered. (3 out of 10)
Not genocide?

Scenario 2:
People in power endorsing violence.
Certain group of people murdered. (3 out of 10)
Genocide?

Would it only be genocide when it's more than 3 out of 10? Or when endorsed by people in power?
(thumbsuck numbers, but you know what I mean.)

I'm thinking the numbers need to be very very high to be classified as Genocide?
Normally a cleansing - wiping out a group of people ?

In the case of " Farmers" murdered over a period of years , as to the numbers, there might be another word for that - not Genocide.

That's why you should look at proportions, if farmers are 10 times (random number for example) more likely to be murdered than the average citizen then there's something wrong, even thought the actual numbers may be small compared to the rest of the population.

Ok good point but that likelihood might be because the target is so much easier. as Ive mentioned before
farm robberies are lower risk with higher reward normally. The killings as part of such a robbery is also much easier because of the remoteness and time factor blended in with maybe some hate.
Not all farm invasions comes with murder attached to it.
That is in my opinion what is wrong here

Farmers, don't 'put petrol on the fire' - Angus Buchan

Cape Town – Well-known evangelist and KwaZulu-Natal farmer Angus Buchan on Thursday called on South African farmers to "exercise extreme restraint" following a wave of farm murders in the country. In a video released on his Facebook page, Buchan said he was speaking "with a heavy heart" about the "reports of many farm murders taking place".

This is [however] not a time to put petrol on the fire. It's not just farmers that are getting murdered in our beloved South Africa, it is people – black and white. "We need to stand together as Christians and we need to continue to pray."

Buchan's video followed a series of messages circulating on social media, calling on South African farmers to take up arms to defend themselves. This was after Franschhoek farm manager Chris Loubser posted a video on social media, pleading with South Africans to wear black on Monday after his friend Joubert Conradie was shot and killed on his farm in Klapmuts, Cape Town.

Pray pray and pray some more Mr. Buchan.

The time for hoping is over. Action needs to be taken and it needs to be taken now. You are welcome to pray all you want, I would like to "plant the potatoes" and believe they grow. Not hope they grow via faith without planting them. How ironic given your life story isn't it Mr. Buchan...

I honestly am of the opinion that the pressure cooker has exploded with this last spate of Farm murders. And we've been warning against this for a while. If you see half of the posts and videos on facebook where people are actually seriously taking up arms and willing to die now for this cause... it's frightening. I think we've crossed the threshold here.

Buchan can go f**k himself! This is the time farmers must arm themselves, militarize themselves and fight the terrorists attacking and killing them. More people need to unite behind farmers. Armed groups of people must be willing to stand up against these terror attacks. Whether perpetrators are poor civilians, military officials, government officials - it does not matter. We need to stand up and fight them to death. This is unacceptable.

Praying alone is slacktivism. #ThoughtsAndPrayers

What an idiotic thing to say ! Are you going to be in the front lines when the S*** hits the fan, by you encouraging and enticing Farmers to Militarize themselves ? Farmers have always armed themselves - it is no secret that farmers own firearms. They do, and it is for self protection and their property, not to practically go to war as you suggest?

Not going to war, but protecting themselves. Firearms are useless when locked up in safes. They need to carry them on them at all times. They armed people with them at all times. Not to go look for someone to kill, but when those terrorists breach the property, attack them with full military force and kill them on the spot.

And, yes, while there are useless scaredy cat males who are scared to take up arms, I will do so in their place and help protect our farmers while such men can hide in their basements behind a computer.

And they need to secure their yard and homes. A gun is of less use when the bad guy is already in your bedroom when you wake up...

Not so much a war.

From what I've read and seen online today it seems like they are closing off or wanting to close off their farm areas and anyone entering will be met with force. How true that is I don't know but we'll wait and see.

Well this explains your rhetoric far better, Be armed at all times and be prepared. Accepted
