Farm Attacks

Both sides taunted each other from across the street, with the left-wingers holding signs saying "fight racism" while the right-wingers carried banners saying "let the right ones in".

Good thing that we have comrades in Australia.

I have not received my wages for this week, I better rape, strangle, stab and torture this family until I get my R500 worth of pleasure.

Sounds legit.

I put a disclaimer at the bottom.

I'm not in any way suggesting their actions are legitimate.

In some of these cases, without any form of recourse, the aggrieved former staff return with vengeance...
)

That is a BS excuse used by the farm attackers all the time. The judge usually finds the defendants lied about the wages not being paid.

The more common "cause" is a dispute about the wages. Workers upset they do not get paid for the days they do not come to work or get to work late or they want more money and the farmer won't pay them more than the agreed wage.

Government also does it part to cause this by saying things like "farmers mistreat their workers, don't pay them or pay them very little while they make the most money from them."

Blatant violence causing lies.

No worries. It always does this, especially at the beginning of the week.

/ahwooo!

No, no no

/growls and grunts while thumping chest

Don't drink on Sundays. It's not in line with what the founding fathers envisaged. That being said, none of what I said is an excuse or justification.

I witnessed a pay dispute at my local filling station the other day. The "employee" was demanding payment for work rendered but "employer" drove away without resolving the matter. It's alleged the employer changed terms when it was time for payment by claiming the guy was only "assisting".

Again, I'm justifying anything (since I have to make this clear each time)

I hope AfriForum is expending resources on information to farmers on how to secure themselves, and even doing more like assisting with group buys for cheaper costs.

Ek was al op baie plase en kleinhoewes, die mense se veiligheid sisteme en bewustheid is swak en laks.

Attack from Monday night: http://ewn.co.za/2018/04/17/manhunt-underway-for-suspects-in-deadly-wc-farm-attack
Heila Killian was killed on Monday night on a farm.

The farm serves as a nursery and coffee shop.

The owner of Gazania Nursery and three friends were apparently braaing at the back of the house when five balaclava-clad armed suspects in orange overall-type trousers opened fire without warning

I spent a night on the family farm in Stilbaai literally a week ago and much too close for comfort to where this attack happened

You have to look at reality. There is no security system or alertness that will save you from attacks like these. Very few fail and the reason is simple. It is planned and executed in a military style. It is usually planned and the target observed. They strike in groups when the target is vulnerable. They have information not only of contents and layout of properties but also what is stored in the safe.

A single family is a soft target to such attacks. Single targets do not have time to even draw their firearms. It is cowards that attack farms like this. The commando system was extremely effective in helping prevent attacks because it was a military force that could deal with large amounts of attackers. It could put up road blocks and hunt attackers on foot. SAPS does not.

I fully agree with the author: a murder is a murder and appalling whether it takes place on the ‘Cape Flats, in rural Transkei or in downtown Johannesburg’. There is nothing wrong however when the plight of farmers is highlighted - by those who identify with them, those reliant on them and those with an in-depth understanding of the severity of this tragedy currently playing out. However, much more needs to be done to alleviate the plight of all victims of crime across South Africa.

In conclusion, isn’t it sad that the world is waking up to this reality while South Africa is in denial?
Treating murder as murder is exactly what those who make claims of genocide or farmers being targeted purely for being white are not doing. It's also not what those wanting special treatment for farmers in Australia are doing.

Of course it was not random, the attacker knew them (she says it) and probably the setup of the farm, and he was greedy and thus attacked them for a profit motive, some people kill their own relatives for greed.
Surely not, when the claim by proponents of the genocide hypothesis is that all farm attacks are purely about hatred of white farmers.

Oh, a hardened target will surely offer resistance till help arrives. I have been on farms and smallholding and many have little to no security in place, no early warning systems. Sliding doors left open with no security gate in front of it, the crims just walk in.

Sheesh.

Can't even braai in peace...

I will say it again. It does not matter how high your walls, how many dogs you have, how far your motion sensors detect movement into the darkness.

If they know what security you have it is literally as good as having nothing at all. People armed with ak's, cell phone jammers, several vehicles and bullet proof vests are not your garden variety burglars or robbers.

They plan to crush resistance before the target can realize what is happening. The same style of attack is effective against modern military units what chance does the average farmer have?

A fort will not protect you.

You watch too many movies. Farm attackers aren't seal team 6. Just having a dog that bark can alert you. If you have a proper fence around your house like palisades. You will have time to defend yourself.

Any links to CCTV video of such attacks available or news stories? Anything to back up such extreme assertions? Oh, I do believe sometimes it's big groups of 6 or 10, but some of those claims of yours...

I'm surprised that you don't say they blow your security doors away with C4.

I'd love to also see some after pics of a properly secured house that was attacked successfully, how the electric fences were bypassed and all the dogs poisoned and whatever. Someone somewhere must have taken some pics in the aftermath of such an assault, or are these attacks even more rare than UFOs and Bigfoot?
