Farm Attacks

why don't you then, you're always telling others here to get off their asses and do something about it, have at it

Not "telling anyone anything". Note the word "hope". You just want to argue over nothing, don't you?

and here's a response to that from an upstanding human being ...

I wonder how this "person" would feel if I killed his family and then told him it is his fault. Some people really dont have a heart. I really hope he gets to know how this lady feels very soon.

Former policeman gets 6 life terms for KZN massacre

A former Gauteng-based policeman who used his service pistol to kill six people in Ezakheni, Ladysmith, has been sentenced to six life terms in jail, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Saturday.

Lungisani Arnold Mgaga, 30, was sentenced to an additional 50 years for five counts of attempted murder.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said Mgaga was sentenced on Friday in the Pietermaritzburg High Court for the 2014 killings.

"On 11 October 2014 at 17:10, a Mercedes Benz vehicle with five occupants was travelling at Pieters Road when it was attacked by unknown suspects who opened fire, killing one person who was identified as Happy Hlomuka. Four other occupants were wounded and taken to hospital for treatment," said Zwane.

The family told the robbers that they didn't have cash in the house.
However, "one of the robbers made a call using his cellphone and later instructed one of the parents to take him to the bedroom where the safe was", Lefakane said.

One wonders just who they were phoning ?
Perhaps someone with intimate knowledge of the layout of the house ?
AND
The fact that there were THREE firearms in the safe

Perhaps their trusty long time house help ?

WHY were the firearms not in their immediate possesion ready to KILL the perps ?

I GIVE UP with people that make such elementary mistakes
Do owners and occupiers of farms and smallholdings not know that they are the TARGETS in a WAR !
Judging by their lackadaisical approach it would appear NOT !
In that doc posted recently, it was said that farm hands play a direct role in inside info.

They are offered what they can refuse.

The sad thing is that many share his sentiment.
He makes a valid case for the masses who have enough reason to support him.

Farmer shot 8 times in robbery at chicken farm near Lanseria Airport

Police are on the hunt for gunmen who shot a farmer multiple times in an armed robbery at a chicken farm near Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg on Sunday.

According to Diepsloot police spokesperson Captain Tinyiko Mathebula, the farmer was treated at Helen Joseph Hospital and was in a stable condition.

Cases of house robbery and attempted murder are under investigation.

News24 understands that the farmer's name is Johan van Wyk and that he had been shot eight times.

A neighbour, who asked not to be named for safety reasons, said the farmer had been sitting on his veranda on Sunday evening when the armed robbers approached him and started shooting.

The man was taken to his lounge where his partner, her mother and his four children were gathered.

According to the neighbour, the robbers were looking for weapons and threatened the 13-year-old girl by holding a gun to her head, demanding to know where the weapons were.

Nowadays, people must be careful who they let into their houses (black or white). That handyman. That plumber. Anyone. They may be scouting for criminals.

Whenever possible, never ever let unknown people in your house. Ypir home is private and protected it I will, I live by it,might even die by it one day

Yes, and to make that possible, you need to secure your yard perimeter and then yard, to either deter the criminals from even trying or to give early warning if they insist on coming in. Or else you sit on your stoep (like this farmer) or open your front or garage door and then suddenly you say hello to a gun wielding POS...
