I live on a farm myself, and while I am overly safety conscious I am myself have woken up in the middle of the night realizing that my front door isn't locked (granted it was only 2 times over the last 5 years), so it just takes one mistake or one moment of carelessness and it's all over.

We should concentrate on vilifying the crooks instead of the victims rather.

No one bats an eye? there's a couple of posters who raised that with Midnightwizard, you are the first one who took it to the next level with you kind of language, does it look like it will have the desired effect if you call him names?

Nobody vilified or even blamed the victims. It is just the times that we live in. People should be safety conscious. And ideally there should be more than one barrier. That the criminals could get to the door without someone noticing is already a problem.

Lol, even better, a locked door could have provided extra 5 seconds to pray for all your sins, or even for god to assist.

We don't know what safety measures are in place. Some farm are just to big. By us for example we have full time security, and these new guys are so jacked up that even the staff are scared of them, but the thieves still make a way to get in. For now they have always been caught before they could steal anything, cause damage or hurt anyone, but that might not always be the case.

From there me saying you can't criticize the victims (or vilify them as midnightwizard has done) without knowing whether they didn't in fact have safety measures in place.

I would ask why would we need these measures. Why should one be afraid on ones own farm? And when you get attacked you are the problem because you werent security concern enough......doesn`t make sense.

But if one is attacked, and you shoot the body 500 times so nothing remains.......you used too much force. Then you are also blamed. My point? Desn`t matter what you do, you the victim will always be blamed.

Oh and don`t come here complaining about how unfair things are, pointing out how these thing happen and nothing changes. Some tards here call that the VICTIM mentality.

Unfortunately our constitution protects both sides of the coin here. Right to life and all that jazz. The only manner in which to address the victim mentality is to introduce the following law. As soon as any person consciously takes the step to commit a crime; breaking and entering, trespassing (with intent), illegally carrying firearms etc etc, they chose to forfeit their own human rights and should be dealt with accordingly. That gives power to anyone that has to defend themselves from crime. We all know the crime in this country is completely out of control and the laws on defending oneself could get very complicated.

I agree with that law. Want to know why? Cause it makes sense. You still have to prove that the person was there illegally and was breaking the law in court. That I have no issue with. But if you dismembered the thing by shooting 500 times at it, I also have no issue. If you do good luck destroying evidence that could prove your innocence.

Lastly the people affected by this I call them victims. I will not use Tard language and call it "Victim mentality".

You misunderstood how I used "victim mentality", did not mean to belittle any victims of crime so apologies on that.

I don't know what you are on about as I never walk around without my firearm, even inside my house. I merely meant that if they just had the door locked they might have had a couple of extra seconds to not be a sitting duck.

I am NOT blaming the victims here but we have to realise that this is what is happening around us. I am also not saying build a castle with a dragon and never leave the premises but unfortunately its a shithole out there and one needs to at least prepare wherever you can.

This is reality and the biggest mistake will be to walk around with the attitude that "it will never happen to me".
