A 39-year-old parolee was shot and killed by a farmer who allegedly found him trying to break into his farmhouse in Mpumalanga on Sunday.
Joseph Vilakazi was out on parole after being sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for rape, house robbery, 14 housebreaking and theft cases, and assault.

Mpumalanga spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the 70-year-old farmer and his wife had returned home from an outing at around 18:30 when they were accosted by an intruder with a knife, said to be Joseph Vilakazi.


"Thereafter, the alleged suspect was somehow shot by the 70-year-old man. Vilakazi is said to have tried to find refuge through the window upstairs during which he sustained further injuries."

He was certified dead on the scene.

Limpopo police track down suspected farm murderer who pretended he wanted to buy milk

A suspected farm murderer who pretended to want to buy milk has been arrested but four other assailants are still at large, Limpopo police said on Sunday.

The farmer, identified by media reports as Nico Janse van Rensburg, who was in his mid-30s, was hit with a pipe and then shot dead on his farm in the small town of Roedtan, some 100km south of Polokwane, on Friday night.

Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said five men in a white Toyota Corolla arrived at the farm, Derdekraal at about 6pm, under the pretext of coming to buy milk.

Not disagreeing, but to who? I didn't hear about it on the radio, I didn't see it on any front pages, I didn't even see whatsapp messages about it?

Only reason people know about the trucker issues is because the N3 is constantly blocked.

95% of the country and world probably gets their news from them. If you're going for awareness, you want to hit the 95%, not the 2%(the other 3% only care about vaccines).
