The Northern Cape High Court in Kimberley has ordered Telkom to fulfil its duties towards its clients, by maintaining the province’s so-called Pampoenpoort line. The company was also ordered to pay for the cost of the High Court case. The ruling came after a group of Northern Cape farmers took Telkom to court, in order to force them to repair and maintain the fixed line service to farms in the Victoria West and Carnavon areas.
