Fast Forward PVR

Is the only way to fast forward when watching programs on the PVR by moving the play button to the right and keeping it there. I have the latest decoder- a friend of mine has an older model but on it you can fast forward anywhere in the program by moving the position of the indicator on the screen.
I'm finding it frustrating having to fast forward to the place I want cos it's too slow (only fast forwards 10 seconds at a time)

Push the blue button - that should bring up a timeline on the screen which you can zip through a lot faster.

You should be able to change the fast forward speed by flicking the button to the right each time. There are 3 different fast forward speeds I think.

you could also pause and then press the fast forward button (press twice for 2 times as fast and 3 times as fast etc)

Do you guys also find the forward and rewind function to be very erratic? I've even tried a universal remote but still it jumps and somma easily goes back to the beginning of a recording... So annoying...

When I saw the title of this thread my first thought was you were asking if you could fast forward a live game or something!
Yeah I use the yellow button, then I can skip forward/ backwards in time.

That happens to me so often that I've stopped rewinding completely. I've gotten into the habit of pausing when distracted now.

Yeah I guess thats best. Or rather using the blue/yello button and then forwarding a bit if necessary...

I also find the fast forward and rewind using the play button erratic - get's "stuck" sometimes and you shoot a minute into the program, irritating...
Started using the yellow button more these days.

fast forwarding on the hd pvr is a nightmare, and you cant go back 2 hours like on sd pvr. think its the white button that brings up the timeline on hd pvr.

but another option is to pause, and flick the button right, varied speeds and better for teh condition of the button as excessive use kills it

Thank you. I was manually navigating, like an idiot. This worked well!
