Faster Whatsapp Sender from PC

hi guys,

I have a new app that allows you to type your WhatsApp messages on the computer. You still need to press a button on your phone to send it and to read the response.

I wrote this app because my wife keeps sending me WhatsApp messages from my phone, while I'm working on the PC. Now I don't have to fumble om my phone's onscreen keyboard, and I can respond much quicker.

Please give it a go, and tell me what you think.

Installation Steps:

You only need to do 1-4 once, at installation.

1) Download and install the app.
2) Open the app.
3) Press the "Email Link" button. This will send an email to yourself, which you can then open on your PC.
4) Open the email, click the link.

5) You will be redirected to a simple web page, where you can type your message (Save the link for future use).
6) Press send to phone on the form.
7) A popup will now be displayed on your phone
8) Press "send to Whatsapp" button
9) Select contact, and you're done!

The steps sounds like a lot, but give it a try. It is A LOT faster than typing on your phone, at least for me .

Great idea but I'm not sure how many people would be happy with info being passed through an unsecure (screenshots indicate no HTTS) 3rd party website. Is there no way to enable this by tethering the phone to the computer?

hi Fudzy,

The message to the phone is encrypted (Google Cloud Messaging). Unfortunately I need to buy a domain and a certificate to make the web site secure. I'm not willing to spend hundreds of rands before I know there is at least some interest in the app.

I like to use it, but I know I'm not a typical mobile user.

I'll spend the money as soon as there is enough interest. Before then, it is just as secure as a normal sms (which can be intercepted by anyone with access to the SS7 network)...

Other ways to do it as well: Here is a message that I typed on my keyboard then sent it to my phone's clip board via chrome to phone (fox to phone for firefox).
