Fastest ADSL I have ever experienced

Well, if you consider this...:

ATM, if you have a 384kbps line with a 3GB TelkomInternet account, it comes up to :
R245(ADSL line rental)+R100(Telephone line rental)+R250(3GB TelkomInternet)
= R595

If you keep your TelkomInternet account, but upgrade to do3 (www.do.co.za), you get this :

4MB line and 3GB TelkomInternet account :
R675(do3)+R100(Telephone line rental)
= R775

So infact, it's only about R180 odd a month extra to upgrade and get 10 times faster downloads....

That's the weird thing about ADSL - once you get a taste for the speed, it's hard to go back!

I went 56k->192k->384k->512k and at the moment I don't think I could ever go back to any of the previous speeds, which is why I'm holding off 4mbps until the price comes down a bit more.

It's R675 if you don't take the "normal line rental" into account...
384kbps - normal rental = R495, you could argue that this is mad aswell??

Anyways, I was just saying that R180 is maybe not that bad when considering you're getting 10 times faster Internet...

So very true....

I had 512k to begin with. Had 512k for 6 months... Had to downgrade to 192k and it was pure hell!!!! I seriously considered quitting smoking to pay for a faster line.... :D

At least back up to 384k now... Can't wait to have proper speed again :(


@tera, that's hard man, slower browsing on dsl than dial-up.... Well, hopefully
it stays like is now :D
